Ben. Santa. Jesus.

Merry Christmas, everyone! (You can ignore that salutation if you don’t celebrate Christmas, or if you are offended by the word “Christmas” and prefer the word “Xmas,” or if you don’t like either word because one is clearly religious while the other is clearly pornographic, or if you just hate holidays in general.)

I actually drew this comic last year, but never got around to finishing it until last weekend. Procrastination means everything, people.

Fun facts about this strip:

1-The whole Santa being dead line stems from an older Ben & Winslow strip called “Recalling the Incident of 1966.” I’m sure there’s a backstory there somewhere, but I haven’t bothered exploring it.

2-I think I draw Jesus different every single time he appears in one of my comics. The guy is like David Bowie.

3-The title of this is based on a poem I wrote called “Moose. Monkey. Jesus.” It’s a really sad day when I’m making allusions to my own writing in my comic strips. Sad and awkward.

I hope you’ve been enjoying the latest issue of Defenestration! And happy holidays!

Andrew Kaye (known in some circles as AK) is the creator of Ben & Winslow and other questionable comics, many of which can be found in his deviantART gallery. He’s also the editor-in-chief of this magazine. Duh?
