When we last left our intrepid scientist, Winslow was about to load some delicious vegetables into his biological transmogrification device and create a beautiful woman. As you can clearly see, something has gone terribly, terribly wrong. Or terribly right, depending on your circumstances. As the title says, this one’s for you, ladies. :P

This comic came about because of an innocent typo that a lot of people make when referring to Apsara. I’ve even done it a couple of times. The typo is, of course “Aspara,” which I always thought was funny because it’s three letters shy of “asparagus.” I foreshadowed this guy’s arrival in the previous strip by putting some asparagus in the box Winslow’s carrying. And the penis joke hearkens back to a (very) early Ben & Winslow comic, “Strange Servings.”

If you notice a Weird Science vibe, it’s intentional. Duh.

I usually draw around my children, because it encourages them to draw, too (and it’s one of the reasons that my daughter draws vaguely Ben & Winslow-style people, and why she always wants me to draw “the lady with the blue skin”). My kids were around while I colored this one, and my son was laughing his miniature ass off because of the bra on Winslow’s head. My daughter, on the other hand, approved of the salad man’s hair color. So this comic clearly works on many levels.
