Jim was not born to wealthy parents on Long Island or in New England. He didn't attend prep school and did not graduate from an Ivy League college. After that, he never worked as an intern in Washington or earned a masters degree in literature. Jim decided not to start his own business and never really took his non-career in medicine seriously.
